An absolute revelation, Children of Men surpasses all expectations. No film ever set in the future has ever looked so realistic and genuine thanks to mind blowing cinematography (catch the scene where blood is splattered on the camera and remains there for a few minutes). Tackling touchy subject matters including terrorism and immigration, COM never shies away from controversy and through significant religious symbolism offers immense hope even in the face of extreme futility. Thought provoking, intelligent and intensely entertaining, Children of Men is one of the best movies of the 21st Century.

It just isn't as good as people make it out to be.

Action: 3/3 + Comedy: 1/2 + Love/Sex: 1/1 + Plot: 1/1 + Music: 1/1 + Good vs. Evil: 1/1 + Special Effects: 1/1 = 9/10 or 90%. Children of Men summons allusions to every war in history, the Christian nativity story, and succeeds on every front. Such territory is rarely filmed well at all, but when it is as it is here the outcome is a wonder to behold.

I thought that this movie was okay, but it was a little dark and depressing for my taste. This movie had a good concept and good acting, but it is nothing that I would want to see again.

Maistro Alfonso Cuaron has crafted a gut-wrenching, emotionally-draining and devastatingly brilliantly bleak drama that covers the gamut of emotions without feeling calculated or forced. The child may offer hope to humanity, but this film offers hope to cinema. Final Grade: A+

I really don't understand why this film is so highly rated. When I saw the preview, I thought it looked like the dumbest movie ever. I don't understand why the people in the movie can't have children anymore. And I can't understand why I should care for 13 minute shots. Clive Owen is sexy as ever and the other roles are good, but I can't see why I should care!

A superb mix of action, drama and science fiction. In a brutal future that's all too believable Clive Owen is the perfect anti-hero in charge of the most important commidity: hope. A film everyone should watch at least once.
