The raunchiest, funniest, most adventurous, and overall best movie of the series. This movie, in my mind, blows the others out of the water. It is wild and stupid and is my favorite Christmas movie since Bad Santa.

It has been 6 years and the two best buddies have grown apart. Harold is a rising executive, happily married to Maria (Paula Garces). Kumar on the other hand has dropped out of medical school and is spending much of his time getting stoned out his mind in his filthy apartment. It's precisely because of this reason that he has been dumped by his girlfriend, Vanessa (Danneel Ackles). A mysterious package and a quest to find the perfect Christmas tree to appease an angry father-in-law (Danny Trejo) reunite them for another crazy night filled with misadventure. Neil Patrick Harris returns as the mythical womanizer who keeps popping up everywhere. Raunchy, insane….just hysterical.

There's very little of the fresh, slacker comedy that made the first film of this franchise so likable. Instead, by now, the filmmakers seem to be going through the motions - hitting on the typical pot, dick, and Neil Patrick Harris jokes they think their fanbase expects. Cho and Penn are likable and NPH is always awesome, but the comedy here wears thin. The induction of 3-D and the Christmas-themed setting don't really add to much - just more frills to capture our brief attention span - but the heart of the film is tired.

Harold and Kumar's funniest adventure yet. It more than earns it's R rating, while not being stupidly vulgar and there are some clever jokes. The 3D is used to maximum gimmick and adds to the fun. The Christmas aspect is embraced and provides some sweeter moments and a little character development for the duo.
