Watch it if you're a fan!

This movie was made as homage to The Three Stooges, with the same style of slapstick physical antics, sound effects and the one-liners, many of their fans have come to love. However while there were scenes that are laugh out loud funny, at times, the movie does tend to drag a little.

The story begins with the three babies wrapped in a blanket thrown on the doorstep of a Catholic orphanage where they are raised by the nuns (Jane Lynch, Jennifer Hudson and Larry David). The boys eventually grow up into dark-haired Moe (Chris Diamontopoulos), the frizzy hair Larry (Sean Hayes) and burly Curly (Will Sasso). As they grow up, Moe almost gets adopted but turns it down saying they're a package deal. Nobody wants that particular package and the prospective parents end up taking an entirely …

The Three Stooges review

Had the aura of Dumb and Dumber but with less impact and punch to tickle the funny-bones. Moe (Chris Diamantopoulos), Larry (Sean Hayes) and Curly (Will Sasso) were literally thrown in an orphanage. Moe was almost adopted but something happened along the way. The three best friends try to raise money to keep the orphanage from closing due to a huge debt. They meet a lady named Lydia (Sofia Vergara) to pay them the much needed money to kill her husband for malicious intentions. Hayes, Sasso and Diamantopoulos were tremendously funny and comedic timing stayed true to the original Stooges. Soundtrack was descent but the real somewhat drawback was the lack of authentic humor. Despite some coyness with the supposed laughable scenes, it had some comedic moments/lines, especially the …

The Three Stooges is innocent, energetic, and has good intentions. Unfortunately, there isn't really any payoff. I didn't laugh. It's certainly not as bad as I thought it might be and not as annoying as I predicted, but it's not so good. I don't find these guys funny, and the problem is that these gags aren't funny anymore. Sure, they were funny while the show was on-air years ago, but that comedy has worn off. Again though, the movie has a share of charms, it's directed with energy, and it'll most likely make the little kids laugh, but there really isn't any other redeeming quality.

The film was written and directed by Bobby and Peter Farrelly (Dumb and Dumber, Hall Pass, Osmosis Jones), and stars Will Sasso as Curly, Sean Hayes as Larry, and Chris Diamantopoulos as Moe, …

The Three Stooges aren’t just a few hapless idiots peddling slapstick comedy; for many ‘baby-boomers’ they were also a treasured childhood element. Starting out as part of a vaudeville act in the late ‘20’s, The Three Stooges became a staple for Columbia pictures, which produced hundreds of their (film) shorts with the original Moe Howard, Larry Fine, and a succession of ‘Curleys’. They also garnered a whole new legion of fans with additional exposure in television that lasted well into the 60’s. It’s very safe to say The Three Stooges are a cultural icon. So what’s with these Hollywood mavericks, the Farley Brothers (credits include ‘Dumb & Dumber’, ‘Something About Mary’, and ‘Shallow Hal’) thinking they can tackle something like this?

I had my doubts …

Moe (Chris Diamantopoulos), Larry (Sean Hayes) and Curly (Will Sasso) are three brothers who grew up in an orphanage and drove the nuns into both an insane asylum and bankruptcy. When they find out that the orphanage is going to go under, they set out to raise the money to save their home. Unfortunately, their bumbling, dimwittedness and constant bickering gets them in trouble more often than not.

We’ve been seeing an awful lot of movies lately made by directors who are pining for that nostalgia of childhood. They are remembering the films they grew up with and wanting to bring the joy that was brought to them to the newer generations. Hell, half the movies nominated for Best Picture earlier this year were send-offs to a simpler time in filmmaking. This is that kind of movie for the …
