"Casino Royale" fits the 007 franchise into a less wacky, more realistic mold than previous installments, but one thing it keeps the same is its suave, cool-as-ice lead character. Daniel Craig is the best James Bond since Connery.

A total surprise. Not only is this a great Bond movie, it may very well be the best Bond movie. Great film.

Casino Royale is one of the most perfect Bond films out there, and I include the previous entries into the franchise in this statement. It has memorable characters, explosive action (including an opening chase scene that shows that the franchise is in no way slowing down,) a relevant plot, and a chilling villain. It also ushers in the Daniel Craig era of a new, more serious and ruthless Bond. In some ways, Craig's Bond is much more human and less of a wise-cracking caricature and, at his most human, he is closest to the character portrayed in Fleming's novels. At any rate, this ranks as one of my favorite Bond films, definitely top 5 material.

There is very little in this movie that doesn't impress, from the opening title sequence to the witty repartee, the characters and the great job of casting them, the clothes, the cards and the cars (especially when they flip 7 times) The torture scene was way too much, but that is my only complaint. The movie is so smart, it is elevated above a mere action flick. I rewatched it immediately.

I was actually really surprised. Daniel Craig was an amazing Bond and Eva Green to me was one of the best Bond girls. The plot was actually really good and believable. The acting was great. The only problems I have with the movie is that its a prequil but the technoligy was far better then the other films and M looks older. But once you get past those details this movie was great.

from goldfinger to goldeneye to this from sean connery to pierce brosman to danial craig i have to say this is a great bond film and film for this day the acting was great especilly by danial craig and eva green what i also loved about this film was how real it felt with no gadgets whitch is my kidn of bond real and acting like a real spy instead of a guy who relies on gadgets. overall 9.5/10
