The overall film is great, the special effects are amazing and the acting great, despite this the film will only be watched by comic book and sci-fi fans other people who enjoy other film genres will think twice before buying the DVD. Me personally very muched enjoyed it. The effects were amazing thanks to the increase in software and computer smartness making the next few years epic when it comes to film effects. The team did a great job in choosing the cast, Ryan Reynolds wouldnt be everyones first choice as the main character but despite this he does pull it off Overall the film is amazing and the effects brilliant

This Movie is like walking into a pharmacy then suddenly getting smashed in the belly with a FLAMING boot made of day old meat. While your girl friend makes out with a little person who stole your wallet and flipping you the bird. This movie is one of the truest embodiment's of all hat and no cattle. What this film promises it just can't deliver. Ryan Reynolds is at best a tragic miscast in this role. It's clear to see why this film failed while trying to be a summer blockbuster it also tired to be a romantic comedy, an edge of your seat action packed thriller and a COMIC BOOK FILM. Lest we forget source material? but we did. Excuse me I have to go I'm being fitted for a new CGI suit.

A very disappointing movie this year. The trailers made it pretty obvious that the movie would struggle, especially since Ryan Reynolds was playing the main part. The best part of the movie was the CGI. The story was mediocre, the acting wasn't that good, and the comedy wasn't that funny. It's almost like the movie was kind of thrown together, hoping it would do well at the box office and make a profit overall. It seems like every comic book is being taken, in this movie making age, and a movie is born. Some work, some don't, and this one did not.

In a time where 3/4 of all comic-book movies are either good or great, this one falls into that 1/4 area. This isn't exciting, fun, or all that interesting. In fact, it is quite boring and pointless. It exists as a movie that was made just to get a quick buck. This is one to avoid. If you are still inclined to see it, then all I have to say is that lowering your expectations will not be enough.

It's not a great film, but it's certainly not as bad as critics made it out to be. We get an origin story of the Green Lantern here, and a lot of information has to get crammed in - the Green Lantern corps and Hal Jordan. I'd equate this movie to the first X-Men movie, in which a lot had to be established and the story suffered somewhat. It is special effects heavy, but how could a movie about intergalactic cops NOT have a lot of CGI effects. I was a little worried about Ryan Reynolds in this role, but after viewing the movie I'm okay with it. I do hope Green Lantern gets another shot at the screen, the scene during the credits previews a potentially good sequel.
