The whole time I was watching this flick I kept expecting it to turn into a horror flick or something & some things were just to weird to be true so I started wondering if this documentary was real or not.Still this is exactly the reason why NOT to meet people off the internet

A frighteningly unsettling film about the chance encounter of these very intricately-weaved personalities, "Catfish" is an obituary of the times when trust was second nature, and is a looming and effervescent soliloquy of our modern age. What struck me most about "Catfish" was how easy the deviant behavior was to swallow and how strange it all really was - I should have been more shocked, but unfortunately, I was simply stupified about the uncovering of such atrocities and the complexity of this labyrinthine dual lives. A great watch!

A mystery with subtle suspense and an emotional revelation. It's story of online relationships is relevant and the question of whether this documentary is real or not has had everyone continuing to talk about it.

Great doc style, amazingly gripping, edited like a real suspense movie. Amazing revelation in third act, handled perfectly. Very intriguing psychology. I don't get the reviews that say it seems staged because this is perfectly feasible. But if it was, it was still done exceedingly well and realistically.

Catfish is an interesting and unique movie portraying the potential opportunities and pitfalls of the social networking age. It is a tidy film without anytime for irrelevant fluff (87 minute running time). The story builds to an exciting climax and is engrossing throughout. It envokes a a wide array of emotions and provides plenty of characters to have sympathy for. It is definitely a worthwhile way to spend 87 minutes of your life.

While the so-called "twist" to the film was pretty easy to see coming, this is still a nice little slice-of-life about trust in the digital age. It's a bit sad and a bit frightening the lengths people will go - watch all the way to the end coda. This is an excellent companion piece to The Social Network - make a movie night out of it and discuss.
