Some of "Brother Bear" feels unfinished, but there's enough emotional heft to carry its contrived and fairly predictable narrative.

Talk about an underrated Disney film- I mean, it's not on the same level as The Lion King or anything like that, but it's still a reasonably good movie with likeable characters and strong music.

Oh brother, this movie is 'bear'ly watchable. The setup for the story seemed different, but after the main character turned into a bear I completely lost interest. Cue the annoyingly unfunny side characters and little kid and the by-the-numbers pastiche of Disney 101 and you have a flick that plays out like a direct-to-DVD Disney sequel.

Clearly made for kids and feels, sometimes, like an after-school special with its preachy pro-nature message (no arguments with the message, just the sappy way in which it is presented.) Some fun moments from the wise-cracking moose, but unremarkable animation and characters make this strictly a vehicle for kids to enjoy.

Some fun but it lacks any fundamental purpose or anything new enough to really make this shine above the other recent animated movies.
