Boxing comeback/redemption story laid over a painful brothers drama, "The Fighter" is as thickly layered as it is conventional and well-acted.

A true story of a relationship between a talented boxer Mickey Ward (Producer Mark Wahlberg who trained for 4 years) and the charismatic addict Dicky Ecklund (Christian Bale). Its premise is very engaging since it is about family, growing up and brotherhood. The 2 leads did extraordinary performances that brings out the heart of the film. Storytelling's pace was continues, no dull portions and the cinematography was good. Cast was flawless as well to make the film more interesting since the family was really involved with Mickey's life. The Fighter will be difficult to forget since it combines solid acting, lovely familial story, combined with the heart of Rocky and realism of Raging Bull boxing scenes.

A film that rightfully deserves all the awards it received. Christian Bale and Melissa Leo standout in a very strong cast. It actually reminded me of a really gritty version of Invincible (also starry Mark Wahlberg) - the story and characters are amazing and it makes the film that much better.

truly one of the greatest films I have ever seen.the drama in this film is so good.it's dark, gritty tale tells it even better.Whalberg and Bale are excellent together.the film punches with great drama, acting, dialogue, and way more.the film is very emotional, which is perfect for a film like this.many people call it the R-rated Rocky,I call it the better Rocky.this movie is great on it's own.David O.Russel is perfect at creating a gritty drama with packs of emotions.I love it.

This is a gritty movie with a sincere emotional core. The acting in this film was the best that I have seen in a while. Christian Bale, Melissa Leo, and Amy Adams gave the best performances of their careers. What was even more brilliant about this was that this was one of those rare times that Hollywood actually "kept it real." Everyone from Bale to the seven sisters was cast perfectly to portray a very believable interpretation of this "true story" about crack addiction and how it puts a strain on the relationship of even the closest families.

This movie is a work of art. The acting is better then you could ever hope for in a movie and the story movies along at the perfect pace. Amy Adams, Melissa Leo and Christian Bale really deserve all the praise they are getting for what they did in this movie. Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg clearly took the roles seriously and worked their bodies into ridiculous physical shape, both strong and strung out. This is a must see for anybody who loves movies.
