Not that bad - the return of Kate Beckinsale (in the smokin' hot bodysuit) is welcome and the story itself is interesting (certainly better than the rather drab Rise of the Lycans). Though it's still mostly action and only occasionally good CGI, if you're a fan of this series - or bloody action - it's worth it to check out.

The action is good, but..... Still a followup and not that surprising. Even at the end the makers keep the plot open for number five. If possible I like vampires, and the movies they play in but now Underworld gets disapoinedly predictable.

I liked the first three Underworld movies, because they actually had a story good enough to follow. They had an interesting setting and characters to root for. But this... This movie... What was this? A bit longer trailer? What was the story actually? Who are all these new 5-minute long characters I do not care a bit for? And Michael? Now I am, now I am not, now we are playing hide-and-seek, what? The idea to involve humans wasn't really bad, but all these battles and kills were pointless and made all the (old and new) characters look plainly dumb.

i'm a big fan of vampire movies but not the underworld ones that potray them to be something so far removed from the original idear its silly. but saying that the underworld movies are enjoyable and like resident evil you know you are going to be entertained, This one however was probably the weakest of the underworld series the last movie was big and grand this one seems and feels empty. id say the series is running out of gas. its ok entertainment but lacks the grandness and story of the past movies . worth watching but offers nothing new.

I can't say enough about how I love this franchise . honestly it's my fave vampire franchise of all time(not like they have much going up against) Although I did't see it in 3D I still loved it .It was a thrill ride that i never wanted to end ,with great visual effects and a killer story. A true must watch of 2012. This is how action and vampires movies are suppose to be so please take notes Hollywood.

I have enjoyed all of the Underworld movies, and "Underworld Awakening" moves the series forward with plenty of action, extreme gore and solid special effects. The plot is servicable, but its the intense action the rules the day here. Kate Beckinsale continues to be one of the coolest, toughest and sexiest vampires ever. I saw the movie in IMAX 3D, which greatly enhanced the action sequences and made the trip to the movie theatre well worth my time. Be warned that this is by far the most violent and bloody of the series... which is a good thing for this sort of movie.

It had some cool killings, but was lacking in every other aspect. A dumb dumb action movie, with little plot/story and hardly any connection with the series. I just couldn't give in and enjoy it, because it felt like I was watching one of the 'Resident Evil' movies, which are essentially video game action moments cobbled together to resemble a movie. The only entertainment I got out of this flick came from me making fun of it.

Upon watching the beginning of this film, the dark atmosphere, brutal action, and refreshing plot will make you believe that this will be the best Underworld movie yet. Unfortunately, the unique plot quickly devolves into familiar territory. The action is the best yet and the film is undeniably fun, but you'll likely find the inappropriately happy and inconclusive ending disappointing. This movie is certainly better than the first sequel and the prequel but fails to be quite as good as the original. I must recommend to see this one in 3D; the amazing 3D really contributes to this movie's experience. In conclusion, if you enjoyed the First Film, you'll probably enjoy Underworld: Awakening.
