My mom loves this movie - I, not so much. Plus that theme song won the award for "Most Annoying Movie Song" until Celine Dion took the crown with "My Heart Will Go On". One of the main reasons I tend to avoid romantic movies in general.

i like this movie. i first watched this movie on a tv but since i like it i bought a dvd also. you know what the best past of this movie? its the soundtrack!!... omg i love this movie soundtrack singing by whitney houston . her voice really awesome.. maybe that makes this movie so romantic . acctually the story is great also , i said its original. but the soundtrak is best !

Despite some iconic Whitney Houston performances, this film is horribly cheesy. Costner and Houston's over-acting is painful to watch and the climax is so laughably executed that it fails on many levels.
