This film should only be watched by yourself. Not with a group of people. Lights off, volume up, when its dark outside. I love this film, it terrifies me everytime. You have to mentally project yourself into the situation the characters are put in, if you can't do that then you won't enjoy it. But imagine you are there in the woods at dark, and somebody, somewhere, out there is screaming for their lives. It would terrify every single person alive. Fact! Well done to the film-makers for creating true horror.

I had just recently read the book when I first saw the movie (on DVD), so I guess I was "primed", because I found this to be one of the few movies that have really scared me. Terrific concept, wonderfully brought to life. I wonder if it helped that I lived right down the street from Burkittsville when I first saw it?

This movie was annoying from start to finish and I was kind of glad when they died so that the shaky camera work would stop so I could go throw up. There was nothing endearing about any of the characters, so I really didn't mind at all when they bit the big one, and the best thing that came out of this movie was that hilarious Chris Rock parody for the MTV movie awards that year. *Admission of deep bias: I went to college right where the BWP was supposed to take place and I had to suffer thru leagues of annoying tourists buying twigs and rocks from enterprising old women by the side of the road. So, it was a cultural phenomenon, and I admit it's powerful message of indie video rocks, but seriously, a good movie? I just don't think so.

Although the story line was good, the cinematic were horrible. I never knew I had vertigo until I watched this film. I do believe they could have done so much better if they had cut out at least HALF of the bouncing, swirling, and twirling involved in filming this movie.

Pure genius. Watching this movie in high school was one of the defining moments that made me want to be a filmmaker. And I don't care what anyone else says, this movie scared the crap out of me for months.

An underrated original horror movie comes to life with creepy scenes. I refuse to watch this with anyone else and with any lights on. It was a great concept and is still scary if you really put yourself in the characters position.

All the Internet hype turned The Blair Witch Project into a hit. However, on further reveiw, it really isn't that great of a movie. The camera movement just makes me sick and besides a truly creepy ending, the film just isn't scary.
