A pregnant woman was bitten by a vampire and gives birth to a child. The boy grows and becomes a vampire slayer named Blade (Wesley Snipes). Deacon Frost (Stephen Dorff) manages to carry on with the vampire raves and a hematologist named Dr. Karen Jenson was bitten by a vampire is saved by Blade. Whistler (Kris Kristofferson) is a father figure of Blades who creates his weaponry.
The upbeat music, stylish wardrobe and fantastic action make this effective. Its screenplay and style of storytelling could have been improved. One of the vampires were killed during the resurrection of La Magra, where it was stated that it needed 12 pure-blood vampire leaders to be sacrificed. Film's pace slows down a bit during the scenes with Frost and somewhat dull character of Jensen. …

A half-human half-vampire warrior who hunts and kills his would-be brethren is captured by his arch enemy who plots to use his blood to raise a vampire god. Blade was one of the first of the new generation of re-invented vampire flicks and it has lost some of it's impact because of it's host of imitators. I'm not the biggest fan of Wesley Snipes, but no-one could've portrayed the character better and Dorff (who is clearly inspired by Kiefer Sutherland in the Lost Boys) makes a charismatic post-Lestat villain. It begins very strongly, introducing the comic book hero in a literal blood bath of frenetic action and the character dynamics work really well. Unfortunately the film seems to lose steam more and more as it goes; the chosen one of prophesy plot is a little hackneyed and when Blade …

A warning to all vampires -- beware the Daywalker

"Blade" is not your typical comic books superhero movie. It is a lot more bloody, the hero is more an anti-hero, and it deals with supernatural villains -- the vampires.
The vampires are making a comeback in an unnamed modern city. They control the police and one of the biggest blood banks within city limits. They roam the streets at night searching for human blood. You can't tell them apart from humans, unless you are a fellow bloodsucker -- or a vampire hunter.
Two of the best vampire hunters are "Abraham Whistler" (Kris Kristofferson) and his part-vampire, "Blade" (Wesley Snipes). The two have a father-son type relationship, with "Whistler", as he is most commonly called, making the vampire-killing weapons, and "Blade" hunting down and killing the vampires. The two declared …
