While the experience is real, knowing how fake the whole film is ruins it.

I couldn't stand this boring, unoriginal and completely predictable knock off. Same story as every other modern horror film. Same cheap scares (you know, the tense music, then a cat jumps out screeching for no apparent reason...) just a huge waste of time.

I thought this was going to be better but I honestly didn't think it was scary at all. I liked the 2nd and 3rd ones much more.

The story is about a couple moves into a typical suburban tract house, but soon begins to experience strange phenomena at night. Setting up a video camera, they hope to capture evidence of the force, demonic or otherwise, that is terrorizing them. This movie is lame at Jump scares and story. this movie is just not scary at all just laughable and boring.

I don't know if I can write a review telling you how god awful this movie was. First of all, it wasn't even scary. Rule number one, if your going to make a scary movie, don't give audio and visual cues when something is about to happen and the viewer can prepare itself for the scare. And seriously, didn't we go through this 10 years ago with The Blair Witch Project (1999). A movie that was so full of hype that it couldn't possibly live up to it. And the whole hand-held, amateur camera thing, it doesn't work. Only see this if you want to be bored and would like to check your watch wondering how much longer this is going to go on.

This is as mentioned a scary movie that fail to be scary. Even though I managed to miss the hype prior to the release and watched this without knowing what I was watching, I still thought it boring. I don't belive in ghosts, and when they fail to get me care the slightest about the people going through the ordeal or the story, leaving to much to my imagination is a very bad idea, as I end up with the conclution that I did, that this is just silly. The people that made this movie are very clever. I do belive it's an accurate comparisment that the amount of money they made for what they delivered was like successfully getting rich on sell snow on the north pole.

There wasn't anything actually scary about this film, and the whole "we're making a film because our house is haunted" thing was kind of a drag from the get go. That being said, it had a few entertaining segments that actually made this movie not horrible. The best part was one of the alternate endings. It could have been played around with better to make it a but more realistic. The hype was way overdone for a film that isn't even in the decades top 100. Oh, well, that's the price you pay when you buy more into advertising than investing in any form of realism.

I don't see many movies in the theatre, but it was absolutely necessary that I see this in the Arclight Cinerama Dome on a Saturday night with my best friend and a crowd full of scared, giggly people. It was so scary and suspenseful and realistic! It reminded me of The Blair Witch Project. Also, if I wake up to pee in the middle of the night, I'm going to be so scared. Also, if I hear the neighbors above me stomping around, I'm gonna assume it's something scary that wants to steal my soul and crawl inside my vagina or something. I recommend seeing this in theatres, when you're feeling silly and like you need an adrenaline rush. It's great fun, and it's also really good quality.

Blair Witch 2009! Just as boring and juts as lame. The whole movie is just slow and boring. If I wanted to watch two people sit around and talk I would have just talked to my wife instead of watching this lame movie. The acting in this movie was just horrible. The lead actress Katie Featherson is just unconvincing about 80 percent of the time and the boyfriend Micah Sloat is actually an agent for movie so his acting ability is that of a 10 year old. Also the boyfriends actions were not that of a concerned lover but rather a complete and unemotional douche bag... you know like an agent. Just watch the blair witch project instead they are basically the same movie anyway.
