Green Zone review

Roy Miller (played by Matt Damon, whose character was based from Richard Gonzalez, an Army Chief Warrant Officer) discovers inaccurate intel from a mysterious source. Story revolves around this premise coupled with lots of gunfights, abduction and chases. It's loaded of background figures, lack of better character development, dizzying camerawork and swift editing makes this picture rushed and difficult to comprehend. If only the direction emphasized the plot in a more concise manner instead of the action sequences and has given introduction the the antagonist, then it could have been better. Screenplay was decent, nothing too memorable. Score was applicable and acting sincere. Overall it felt like viewing a tv series than a war flick. Green Zone emphasizes on politics, violence …

"Green Zone" by Yojimbo

The Bourne team are once again reunited to tell the story of a US soldier investigating WMD sites who stumbles upon a conspiracy involving the government and an Iraqi general. The combination of Paul "shakycam" Greengrass and Matt Damon, playing his usual likeable action man of the people was always going to invite comparisons with their previous collaborations. It has the same formula of breathless action and convoluted conspiracies, but in this case, despite the larger themes involved the plot seems a lot more simplistic. Failing to address the role of corporate interests and the propaganda "war on terror", Green Zone prefers to point the finger at a faceless, corrupt minority operating outside the purview of the moral majority which always seemed to me to be a bit like providing …

Zoned Out

Difficult to comprehend the point of Paul Greengrasses movie. As an Iraqi war movie, its a million miles behind Katherine Bigelows "The Hurt Locker with its murky action scenes and suspense free chase sequences. As a political statement, Green Zone is excessively heavy handed with sprinkles of liberal bias and a conspiracy theory that most people believe in anyway.
If you view this as the fourth Bourne movie (which it isn't, although some of the ads seemed to be pushing it that way), then you will be disappointed. This is a tepid, chaotically shot and strangely convoluted movie which is a dumb down version of real life events affecting America, the Bush administration and the ongoing military operation in Iraq.
A major disappointment and arguably a seriously misguided movie.

Fans of Green Zone should check out In Our Name

Fans of Green Zone should check out a brilliant new British film called ‘In Our Name’ opening this Friday 10th December in Curzon cinemas and countrywide via the new Curzon-On-Demand video streaming (https://www.curzoncinemas.com/film_on_demand/ - great for those of us who don’t live near an arthouse cinema!). It stars Joanne Froggett (Anna from Downton Abbey) who won a BIFA (British Independent Film Award) for her role as a soldier returning from a tour in Iraq and struggling to re-adjust to family life and cope with after effects of her experiences in a war-zone. It’s a really thought-provoking and tense, edge-of-your-seat drama; culturally significant, reminiscent of Ken Loach-style social realism, it is inspiring for filmmakers as it was made on a very low budget by newcomer …

Green Zone Review

The Deal with Green Zone is truth hurts. People dont want to hear about the truth because the truth is hard to swollow. This war movie that shows secrets behind closed doors about the Iraq War some may believe its fake some may think it could be real. I believe the same there was no WMD's that was a fake to get us out there we cover are tracks people won't know what happened I believe while Bush was Preident something was going on so i agree with this movie it needs to be seen by everyone. What I like most is It's none other than the Team of Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass from the Bourne films, Couldn't ask for anything better than that. the action in this movie was off the wall great. that's how war movies are think a mix between Saving Private Ryan and Hurt Locker. This movie is worth …
