Too Many Bee Puns!

The first few minutes was absolutely brilliant because there were scientific jokes about the actual lives of bees. The animation looks lively and great so it's perfect for children. But as an adult, I wasn't that entertained when the lead bee, voiced by Jerry Seinfeld, decided to take a lawful action against something. Some of the magic were lost and the jokes were not as sharp. I did like the interaction between the bee and the human because it reminded me of a less meaningful version of "Ratatouille." It also reminded me of a less creative "A Bug's Life." Nonetheless, I'm not completely against recommending it because it does teach a lesson to kids about the importance of the environment and how people rely on nature to subsist. I just recently watched Bee Movie. When I first saw the promos for it I didn't have really high expectations for it. I knew that because Dreamworks was putting it out there would be a few things that I could expect:
#1 The animation quality would be top notch
#2 The effects would be very good
#3 There would be a number of big name actors providing voices for the movie.
The reason I didn't go out and watch it in the theaters was actually because of the way that the film was promoted. Actually I should say the way the film was "over-promoted". There was a while there where you couldn't see Jerry Seinfeld appearing on the screen for whatever reason and suddenly he would add the "go watch Bee Movie". The over hype of the movie made me decide that the producers were so nervous about how …

Barry Benson (Jerry Seinfeld), a bee, spent his whole life waiting for the moment that he could work in the hive, not realizing that he would be stuck with the same job for the rest of his life. Knowing this, he decides to leave the hive and explore the world. He meets a florist named Vanessa (Renée Zellweger) and discovers that honey is being harnessed for human consumption, and decides to sue mankind over it in "Bee Movie."
Dreamworks has never been known for quality entertainment for me. This being the case, I was a little weary on seeing this film. Surprisingly, I actually did enjoy it more than I expected to. Seinfeld apparently wanted this film made for a long time, and it does show that he put a lot of thought into it. That being said, it's time to rip it apart.
