More tacky voyeurism from Paul Verhoeven and once again I found myself unable to tell if he's actually being serious or not. It's a run of the mill, rather predictable thriller only remarkable for the amount of flesh on show.

A suspense thriller with high ambitions. It only manages to show glimpses of what could've been great. An overly sexual endeavor that comes off sleazy, at times. Though, this aspect is entertaining, it still becomes overload. There exists little thrill in the story, because the turns never threw me off of my original assumption of the 'who-done-it' right from the very beginning. Good acting and directing managed to keep me slightly interested for the whole running time. But it turned out to be a mildly aggravating experience by the end.

Admittedly, I am probably not the right demographic for this film, since I find most erotic thrillers (or any erotic + insert genre here film, for that matter.) That said, I found the acting and drama incredibly overwrought and soap opera in its execution. The movie felt like it was trying too hard to be sexy and simultaneously thrilling and it just comes across as desperate. Yes, you see Sharon Stone's vagina, but Sharon Stone's vagina in a bad movie isn't really worth it...

Sharon stone was definitely seductive, and I was definitely seduced. I don't think anyone could ever resist her charm in this movie. She's exactly the woman I want to bring home to mom. And has the perfect traits to match, she's sexy, smart and most all has a murderous tendency. I like the whole seduction thing she did in the precinct. Sharon Stone performance was believable and flawless at the same time. I read somewhere that she's really smart, like 150 IQ smart. So maybe she wasn't acting, she's playing herself..

Steamed up the screen when it came out, and holds up remarkably well to this day. Sharon Stone and Michael Douglas make a good pair on screen. Unlike so many other films of this nature, this has plot and character development.

First viewing of this movie blew me away: great music, good acting, twisting plot, and very sexy. Like most mysteries, it looses luster the second time around. Still, this is one of the best thrillers of the 90's. Douglas and Stone do magic
