In a future where humanity is isolated, pain-free and docile - because instead of venturing out themselves, they send surrogates, perfect mechanical counterparts, to do the work. But when a murder shatters this perfect world, an FBI agent will discover a conspiracy behind this perfect world and will have to abandon his own surrogate and risk his own life to find the truth. The way the movie is shot was really well done and Bruce Wills didn't do a bad job in this movie. But the story and the characters were flat and all of this had be done to death by now.

Not a very good movie, even for a sci fi. It is hard to make a sci fi suck, for me and this one is very close. Bruce Willis has lost any acting skill he had ever had and now is just an old man with no acting or action skills. The plot in this movie is ok (though been told many times) and the direction is poor. I can't recommend this movie.

A flick that really tickles your imagination if it were real. The future in the eyes of the director, has some solid acting and wonderful dialogues. A better version of I, Robot and clearly executed with sophistication. You can really feel for Willis character and what he was going thru. Could have been better with better screenplay, score and supporting cast. Surrogates is a movie you can be entertained with the science fiction action while being thought provoking at the same time.

A good premise, as the idea of hiding your identity behind an avatar is already common online - doing it in the real world seems like the next plausible step. Technology just has to catch up with the idea. The films doesn't work as well as the idea, but it's reasonably good.

this movie started out with an absolutely brilliant premise, and for a while there it was handling it well, but then somehow it lost its spark then it just ended. This movie was, I felt, too short. It felt like the filmmakers had to go pee and just wanted to be done with the audience so they could go do their business. Its unfortunately one of those movies where the first half is amazing. Second half not so much
