Alec Baldwin is a stud, as he usually is. Steve Martin is pretty crappy as usuall and Meryl Streep is her usual self - a good actress that is not very attractive. Maybe the older generation will really like this movie but to be honest, it was just too long. It did have a few funny scenes and the story was OK. The ending was pretty terrible.

I went into this film not knowing what to expect, but hoping to be entertained. I wasn't disappointed. The connection between the three lead actors was very believeable, and real. At several times, each was able to freelance out and display their own talent as well. It had just enough humor to keep you watching, hoping, and at some points, cheering for one man or the other! My only complaint was that it did drag on a bit, and my man didn't win! Overall, it was a very enjoyable film that was worth seeing.

Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin have undeniable chemistry in this wonderfully comic romance (probably the funniest movie of 2009), owing much of the comedy to Nancy Meyers, the writer and director of the film. The story is not all that orignal, but it is just enough to cause me to keep guessing what is going to happen. Meryl Streep's performance is top notch (as always) and Steve Martin is nothing short of tragically funny. A great comedy with great performances.

An good movie for grown ups, especially if you're fans of the three lead actors. Streep has pretty good chemistry with both Martin and Baldwin, but it's Baldwin who really steals the show here. To be honest, it's a lot more serious than I thought it'd be and I did expect to laugh a lot more, but I was pretty engaged in the story and seeing how things would end up. If you've enjoyed Meyers' other films, like Something's Gotta Give, you'll probably enjoy this as well.

Critic Scott Foundas' review was perhaps a bit hysterical. Meryl Streep is quite good in it and Steve Martin can do no wrong. But how many times do we need to see Alec Baldwin nearly naked? And how come most of the jokes fall flat? Just because your kids text all the time does not mean they should in the movies. Nothing's happening and it doesn't move the story forward. Instead of moving with the times, Nancy Meyers should have focused more on the story, which had a lot of potential. Really, is Nancy Meyers losing it?
