CJ Nicholas (Jesse Metcalfe) is a prick TV reporter together with cameraman Corey Finley (Joel Moore) wants to prove that the D.A. plants evidences. A nice idea but poor directed and presented. Acting was unconvincing, figures not interesting, and the supposed twist just doesn't have any impact. The romantic angle was not even interesting. Not dramatic enough for a dram and lacks sufficient plot points to be an effective mystery. Greed, lust, distrust and justice system were its themes, but most movies can present these in a more artistic manner. Beyond a Reasonable doubt as a movie together with its dull special features (interviews) was really boring overall.

This is terrible. The original version was no classic but this remake propels it upwards. Awful acting from charmless Jesse Metcalfe, mindless and illogical car chases and hopeless directing make you pine for the old Hollywood. An example of its ineptness: our heroes life depends on a video so what is this backed up on? A memory stick, a flash card or even a mobile? No, a DVD. The story is laughable, though sadly the film isn't, at least not literally.

It's sad that Michael Douglas signed onto this movie. The dialogue is complete crap and the last line of the movie is stupid and laughable. Worst of all the movie builds up to nothing. It feels like it just stops. I get the feeling that the producers wanted to give it a manageable running time so they cut large chunks that might have helped the movie, but not likely based on the dialogue up to this point. The wist ending to the movie is also horribly obvious from well before the second act gets started. Don't waste your time on this piece of garbage

Good script; Good ending twist; poorly executed. I found myself forwarding the movie so just I could see how it would end since i didn't saw the 1956 original. Really was a shame because i was looking forward to see this.
