Meh.... It was good. I watched it. I could watch it again. Two great actors in their own ways.

I have NEVER understood the general public's love affair with Adam Sandler. Adam Sandler just isn't funny. But because this film had a decent premise and the ever watchable Jack Nicholson going for it, I thought I'd give it a go. But guess what? ADAM SANDLER JUST ISN'T FUNNY.

The poster for this movie basically says it all. Sandler and Nicholson butt heads. There are some laughs, but It starts to get old after a while.

The pairing of one of the best actors and a popular comedian could have been enough. This flick could have been better with the right script, score, and cinematography. Not all comedies are effective because it tries too hard in bringing out the humor. Adam Sandler's character was not romantic enough, Jack Nicholson's portrayal of the anger management coach was The Shining-like. If only the main leads had better roles, screenplay and utilized the talents of the cast (Tomei, Guzman, Allen, Turturro), then this could have been a memorable pairing. It has some hilarious moments, overall it was not that entertaining nor romantic. So much potential, so little to give.

This is a cool concept, but Sandler and Nicholson both painfully overact. There are some clever cameos from various Sandler regulars, but the film is mostly unfunny and overdone. There's a lot of yelling, as if the louder a character shouts, the funnier it's supposed to be.

Although Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson make a good team but I feel this is a pretty half-hearted effort from both of them. It has its moments, but it never earns more than a few chuckles.
