With a truly magical story, stunning soundtrack, and a return to signature classic animation, "The Princess and the Frog" resembles the kind of feature Disney produced at the height of its Renaissance in the 90s.

Her best friend since childhood is a privileged white girl whose wealthy father employs Tiana's mother as a dressmaker. When the friend's family hosts a party for Prince Naveen of Maldonia, Dr. Facilier, an expert in black magic, turns the visiting royal into a frog. This movie had funny charterers and it had song that will stick in your head forever.

Though it isn't on par with some of the "classics" in Disney animation, the Princess and the Frog is a fun and energetic take on the popular fairytale. The Cajun setting is unique for a Disney film and richly executed visually and the varied ethnicities of the characters is also refreshing.

The animation is top-notch, but I found the story and music to be pretty standard. I'm glad Disney hasn't given up on traditional 2D animation, but if this is their best effort, it's on shaky ground.

Finally! A return to the Disney animated films I grew up on. I only pray that this causes Disney to produce more and more of them.

Well, I definitely didn't voodoo magic from New Orleans to tell me how this movie was going to go. There was nothing original about this movie except for the fact that it had soul and the princess was not your typical Disney princess. The Disney movies that I watched growing up were really truly magical. Sure some of the characters in this film were fun (especially the lighting bug), but it was missing that extra POW and that extra drama that you get from Lion King, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast. The movie had its moments, but all in all it was a bit of a let down unfortunately. I will say, though, that I DID like that it had that 90's feel to it without all the silly "3D."

A nice return to classic Disney storytelling - traditional animation, story, songs, etc. There are some major drawbacks here though - the songs aren't that memorable and the story is extremely rushed. As a result, some characters aren't fully developed and there's too much going on at times. Still, the effort is noble all around and even a somewhat uneven performance from Disney animation is still better than a lot of stuff released today.

Another solid Disney animation. So it is not as good as Lion King or many of the films of the 90's but it is time to bring this medium back. Yeah Up was great and so was Monster's Ink. But, what about something with a little soul. Check it out if you are a fan of old school Disney.

Such a sweet great new Disney movie. Disney is back to its classic stories and great characters. The message was fantastic and the end even brought a tear to my eye. With its catchy songs and meaningful characters, I think that Disney is back!

now don't tell anyone, but I love Disney princess movies. I'm sorry to say that, at least in my opinion, this one is not gonna displace any of the classic ones. First of all it really didn't have a catchy iconic song Beauty and the beast: "Beauty and the beast" Sleeping Beauty: "Once Upon a dream" Little Mermaid: all the songs Lion King: ditto And I'm sorry, I don't think it's the best Disney film since Lion King, I mean hello: Emperor's New Groove. now I won't lie the villain was hella cool, with his voodoo doll back-up dancers. But over all the film at it's soul, to me anyways, felt like a ploy to sell things at the Disney store. (yes I shop there, don't judge)
