Whereas Rob Zombies original Halloween remake attempted to do something new with the Michael Meyers story, in this sequel, he goes straight to the gore and offers a ludicrous story in return. It's almost getting into torture porn territory here. If you appreciate violence, have at it, just don't expect much more.

Zombie is free from the restraints of emulating any of the previous Halloween films and continues his story in an unconventional and incomprehensible way. The entire story does the opposite of what you would expect and the death scenes are even more elongated than in the last movie to the point of overkill. I found the movie to be a grueling mess, at times. The Director's Cut adds a few more dialogue scenes and an alternate ending that I consider only a minor improvement.

this film was awfull, i enjoyed the rob zombie remake of the original but this was pure gore! over the top throughout!

I really liked this movie. Rob Zombie has a way of making my skin crawl as well as making me want to go and kill someone. I love this revisioning of the classic horror genre and I really REALLY liked the way that he directed the artistic motifs through it. Better than the first and almost up to par with the original, this is a must see.
