This may sound strange, but Sam Rockwell choking on food is really compelling.

With the movie success of Fight Club it makes sense that someone would attempt to put another Palahniuk novel on the big screen. Having already read the book I feel I had a greater appreciation and understanding of the film. I'd recommend the book over the movie any day but the movie was very enjoyable.

Adapting any Chuck Palahniuk to the big screen is a huge undertaking, but I think Choke worked out pretty well. It stayed pretty close to the source material - it was uneven at times, but overall it was a decent film.

Knowing that the same author of Fight Club penned this book, I was very disappointed. I don't blame the author though as it seems a better actor and a better director could have hit a home run. It felt rushed and almost cheesy at times.

While differing from the book substantially (ending-wise), it was definitely not up to Fight Club's level of standards. It was lower budget. Anjelica Huston was great of course, but the scenes between Sam Rockwell and Kelly McDonald left me wishing they had rehearsed more. I like them both, so maybe my expectations were too high. Clark Gregg is an ok director. He sort of messed this one up. Hopefully his future features will only be better.
