Did Mike Myers really sit down one day on some beanbag and think that 62 million dollars was worth spending on a comedy film that parodies New Age Hindu self-help gurus? And which Hollywood executive(s) signed off on it? Was Deepak Chopra that popular in the 2000s? I don't know, and frankly I don't care. I just want my 87 minutes back.

A comedy so offensively bad, it almost makes Adam Sandler movies look bright and acceptable.

So Mike Myers plays the Love Guru who must try and get the star hockey player of the Toronto Maple Leafs back together with his wife so they can win the Stanley Cup. Mike Myers used to be in good comedy movies, but now Mike Myers is kind of a pain to watch on screen sometimes and the Love Guru is one of them.

The least funny movie Myers has made. Almost devoid of laughs.

Remember when Mike Myers was funny? That was a long time ago. And now when he does make a movie, which happens very rarely. The outcome is not exactly what I would call "funny". Waaay too many plays on words. Yes Mike Myers, we get it, Indian names can sometimes be long and sound funny, but we don't have to make 50 jokes about them. The only scenes I found interesting were the Hockey scenes (eh?). Overall, it was a boring, badly acted, slapstick failure. I'd Rather watch "The Cat in the Hat".

With a worst performance made by Mike Myers; The Love Guru stands on a ground that is offensive and uniquely not quite funny.

This movie was not good in more ways then I can describe. The people I feel bad for are the other actors who had cameos or played parts in this movie. Like Ben Kingsley what kind of terrible dirt dose Mike Myers have on him to get him to be in this movie? The story was bad the acting was bad and even thought I found myself laughing from time to time (and it made me feel very shameful to laugh at the parts I did) the humor was terrible. I know there are going to be some people like me that think Mike Myers can be funny and they will rent this but please don't. Renting this movie will only encourage Myers to make another and none of us want to see him fall any farther. I can in no way recommend this movie for anyone to see.

Wow! I actually think I feel sorry for Mike Myers. Sorry about how horrible and bad this movie was! I really feel that he has done nothing but gone down hill. This is a far fall from Wayne's World and the first Austin Powers. This movie as just dumb! With very few laughable moments and a very strange plot, I don't recomend anyone wasting their time on this.

I gave up on this with the "Uncle Jack and the Elephant" joke. If the Guru Pitka character had been a minor character in a much better film I probably would have laughed at it but to stretch a one line joke into a feature length film just doesn't work. The Austin Powers films are homages to a genre of films our generation grew up watching, this is just a sad excuse for Meyers to get another paycheck. And why, in the name of God, is Ben Kinglsey is this movie? What debt did he have to pay off? Who did he owe a favor to? Those can be the only reasons why I can imagine him being in this waste of a movie.

"The Love Guru" was one of the worst disappointments this summer. What a wreck of a story with only a handful of actual comedic lines that made any real sense. The Guru Pitka was too much like an Indian Austin Powers that I was made ill by the amount of awful puns and ridiculous remarks. I only wish Mike Myers was alive to see what has been made of his name....wait...
