I first saw this film as a ten year old, on a Saturday, with a theater full of other kids, it was both scary and fun at that time. I've since seen it again as a much older adult, and still find it to be fun. It is a typical Vincent Price role, and a typical William Castle film, no more or less than I expect. I was entertained, and that's why I view films, so it met that requirement.

This is about as bad as it gets folks. A scientist discovers a monster-like insect hidden inside all humans that can be unlocked by scaring them to death (aka the Tingler). Oh, and screaming kills the Tingler. How do we solve this problem? Find a mute and scare him/her to death! Seriously. Horrible premise. Terrible acting. Horrible special effects (even for 1959). Ridiculous story. This is something that needs to be mocked in Mystery Science Theatre(if it hasn't been already).
