Story and characters are the most typical of this genre. Fierce acting and stylish direction are a good counterbalance to that. The centerpiece heist is the major highlight of the whole film. It's silence and precise time constraint makes for a unique take on the high stakes snatch-and-grab. Very satisfying.

This is one of the best crime films - stylish and moving from start to finish. The protagonist is a gruff and businesslike seasoned criminal who gives the film weight and urgency. The heist scene is twenty minutes of tense excitement and the resulting backstabbing and intrigue plays like an early Godfather.
