There's more going on here behind the mayhem, but I didn't care enough to notice. Definitely not one of my favorite Romero films.

If Night of the Living dead dealt with racism and Dawn of the Dead was about Consumerism, then The Crazies is all about how inept the military/government can be. You can tell this was a 70s film, from the music to wardrobe, but the message is still all too familiar.
