Bride of Frankenstein review

In this picture we see what happens to Frankenstein. The over acting of certain background characters were evident and we only see a glimpse of the Bride of Frankenstein. The build-up was not enough and the conclusion seems rushed much like the first. Screenplay was effective with so many quotable lines: "We must work together." "Creation of life is enthralling." "Your welcome my friend whoever you are." "It is bad to be alone...friend good." "There is good and there is bad." "The human heart is the most complex part of the body." A lot of symbolism's were made by critics, for this reviewer, thematics of creation, having compassion of the heart, beating loneliness; friendship and acceptance/alienation were portrayed to perfection. Bride of Frankenstein: The Best of the Bunch!

"Bride of Frankenstein" is probably the best of the Universal Frankenstein films of the 1930's and 1940's. Boris Karloff reprises the role for this film and manages to show a subtle evolution of the character, creating a sympathetic monster who longs for true friendship. Realizing that he will never find companionship among humans, he is encouraged by his creator's decision to make him a female mate. As you can imagine, this doesn't go as well as the monster had hoped.

As always, I monitoired the film for tobacco use. There are several pro-tobacco scenes in the film which teach the monster to associate smoking with friendship.
