Jerry Warriner (Cary Grant) returns home from a trip to find his wife, Lucy (Irene Dunne), with another man on the way home. He discovers that she is with the good-looking music teacher, Armand Duvalle (Alexander D'Arcy) when the car broke down. Lucy moves with Aunt Patsy (Cecil Cunningham). Jerry and Lucy get a divorce while Aunt Patsy talks about relationships with her. Daniel Leeson (Ralph Bellamy) falls for Lucy and becomes close. Jerry goes out with heiress named Barbara Vance (Molly Lamont). A sister of Jerry, “Lola” crashes in a party of Barbara. Brilliant performances from the cast, notably Irene Dunne.
