This is Werner Herzog's masterpiece - a film whose scope of adventure is matched by the actual garganthuan effort it took to make the movie itself. Klaus Kinski perfectly fits into the role of an obsessed man who drags a boat over the mountains. Yes, it's as epic as it sounds. The film's set pieces are fantastic and the film is vividly photographed with some amazing cinematography, as well.

Herzog again builds up a weird, moody and climatic masterpiece, maybe with not strong lines, but certainly with strong visuals as usual. The performances are beyond fantastic and the midle of the whole thing is overwhelming. How far you can go with the power of will? Fitzcarraldo tells you.
