This is a pretentious piece of crap with a slow moving plot that goes absolutely nowhere! This film tries desperately hard to build itself up as a deep and existential arthouse type film, but is nothing more than porn.

An art movie not for all tastes, Battle In Heaven is a slowly paced and hypnotic examination of sex, religion and redemption in a modern day Mexico rarely seen on the screen. Explicit, daring and a little pretentious, this is a film that fails to take the easy option and delivers a haunting and disturbing fable of ordinary people battling for their souls. A film, which is as perplexing as it, is ambitious.
