A film that reminded this rater of a cross between Persona, Back to the Future II and Mulholland Drive. The story of two ladies with things in common. Weronika (Irène Jacob) wins in a singing competition. While singing, she collapses and dies at a concert. Véronique (Irène Jacob), a music school teacher, felt sadness after making love. She views a marionette performance and feels in love with somebody. She learns that Alexandre Fabbri (Philippe Volter) is the puppeteer thru children's books.
Screenplay was though provoking with lines: "I'm alive." "You should change." - Antek "I feel that I am not alone in the world." - Weronika "I don't understand?" Véronique's father. Direction as always was meticulous, realistic and calculated. The performance of Irene Jacob was …
