Klaus Kinski is this movie. His craziness and visage command every inch of the screen. His monumental performance aside, the film is an excellent study in obsession and greed that holds up as a superb action/adventure film. The photography, it should be mentioned, is some of Herzog's most lush and expressive.

Stunning and breathtaking movie, in every way. The atmosphere is what makes this movie. The cinematography, the music score, Kinski. It unfolds before your eyes like a poem.

If your like Kinsky, watch it. If you like New world, watch it. If you like documentaries, watch it. Herzog uses Kinsky's madness to portray, (yeah, that) the conquering madness. Finding the new world was good, was bad, but also fascinating and intriguing. The movie is revolutionary, with incredibles landscapes and hypnotic score that... penetrates your brain from times, making you part of the scenario. Masterpiece with capital M.
