Our Daily Free Stream: Tarkovsky - Solaris (engl. subt.). Wir haben für euch im Laden eine Auswahl ernsthafter Science Fiction Filme aufgestellt. Deshalb gibts heute Solaris. - Die Filme von Andrei Tarkovsky wollen belehren und nicht unterhalten. Oft wird kritisiert, sie seien viel zu lang, doch das trifft nicht den Kern. Tarkovskys Langsamkeit dient dem Zweck, uns etwas runter zu fahren. Die normale Geschwindigkeit unseres Lebens weicht und wir treten ein in seinen Bereich der Meditation. Wir haben die Wahl: Reagieren wir auf seine Langsamkeit gelangweilt oder verdichten wir unsere Eindrücke? Solyaris review

Psychologist Kris Kelvin (Donatas Banionis) spends his last day on Earth reminisce about his childhood home. Henri Burton (Vladislav Dvorzhetsky), a former space pilot, discloses something out of the ordinary. He mentioned witnessing an over-sized child on the ocean surface of Solaris. The tempo of the storytelling and lack of character development were some of the low-lights of the film. Most extended scenes were not beneficial to the plot. Performances, stunning cinematography, score and acting were really good. Screenplay was gorgeous with the following lines: Dr. Sartorius – “Man was created by Nature in order to explore it. As he approaches Truth he is fated to Knowledge.” Dr. Snaut – “Man needs man!” Kris Kelvin – “The salvation of humanity is in its shame!” Solyaris is we...
