Despite multiple scenes of exploitation, it's hard to deny this electrifying and peculiar combo of comedy, drama, crime, and romance.

"What you faggots want?" A few minutes later... "I want to apologize to you gentlemen for referring to you as homosexuals. I also want to thank you fellas; you taught me a valuable lesson in life. LUUUULAAAAA!". Crazy and surreal with a tense performance from Willem Dafoe, but also mystic. Nicolas Cage singing "Love Me Tender" to Laura Dern was beautiful.

David Lynch's bonkers road movie has enough oddball characters and gruesome imagery to spare. But the thin plot is only an excuse for Lynch to revel in its strangeness and it becomes grating. Still, Laura Dern looks good topless and the villains are intimidating.

Likeable road movie that ticks all the Lynchian boxes. Intelligent, offbeat, violent and visually pleasing. Unfortunately, it's also disjointed, episodic and the constant Wizard Of Oz references tend to grate after a while. The supporting cast is great, although Laura Dern isn't.

This is one of the more linear and accessible David Lynch films. That isn't to say it isn't a little strange, though, as Lynch crafts a world populated by exaggerated characters and darkly comedic action scenes. Nicolas Cage's over-acting actually works here and Willem Dafoe is effectively creepy as the lecherous villain.

I always think, that Lynch is overrated. But this movie is one of the best, which I saw. Cinematography like in soap-opera... but the story, however seems to be a traditional romance, is sick. Lynch's way of sickness... This movie I can call "However": 1. However I don't like Lynch, I love this movie: it's very intresting... 2. However I think that Cage is terrible, in THIS movie he created a great role... Ok, best to see in company.

More weird than surreal and there's not much to this movie. It still has its shocking moments and a unique style with a few interesting characters as well.

Usually lynch is quite difficult. Well, in my opinion. But Wild at heart is not impossible to understand, yet it still has many "lynch-elements". Wild story about young love, violence, fear and weird thoughts.
