Unforgiven is the Western goodbye for Clint Eastwood, and it is a dark bleak film especially compared to the Sergio Leone trilogy and still so with Eastwood's later westerns. It purposefully wants to be different from other westerns and is different from other westerns. It is effective in this way of making the hero much darker than most and the villain different than others. It is effective at what it wants to do very effective and is the perfect dark bleak western.

This is a great movie. I love how Eastwood's character was once a serial killer, basically, but then changed into a family man. It provides for one of the best and most complicated characters in all of cinema.

Oh Clint Eastwood what have you done? Boring as all get out. I love Morgan Freeman but not in this one.

Cliche and a boring plot and uninspired characters, this movie didn't work for me. If only the whole could stand up to the final 30 minutes since all the character development is thrown on at the end.

I like Clint & Morgan, but I don't like westerns and didn't get it at all.

This movie saved a dying genre. Although, it seems every 10 years or so, a new Western comes out that saves the genre. Eastwood staked his claim as the Academy's favorite director with this film. And Gene Hackman make quite possibly his best film since The Conversation.

One of the best modern westerns in memory. Clint Eastwood proves he can act and direct. Eastwood puts together a fascinating cast that completely revived this otherwise forgotten genre. Leave it to Clint to breath new life into westerns.

Awesome flick that brings back the mistic of old american westerns, on the hand of the old fox Clint Eeastwood. Beautyful shots, clever dialogues, exelent script, lovely cast, and an acting that will crack your nerves. I really loved it, and I was happy when it won the Oscar. Can't miss it if you like westerns.

I like westerns, but this one didn't do it for me. I was expecting something more from Eastwood who has been in the best westerns of all time.
