The story is about a war between vampires and werewolves rage on as one of the vampires falls in love with one of the werewolves who wants the war to end. This movie was like the matrix but in horror style.

The first film of the franchise is the only real worthwhile entry, blending noir elements with an action packed battle between vampires and werewolves. Granted, the plot occasionally borders on the ridiculous, but the dark atmosphere is intriguing and fantastic actors like Michael Sheen and Bill Nighy get the opportunity to ham it up in a fun way.

The 'black leather coat' action movie (as I've dubbed it) was at the point of saturation when this was released. The fact that it skews into horror is the new twist in the formula. Though for a movie about vampires fighting werewolves, there is a lot of gunplay. It's the expected cliches of stylized action, muddled self-serious mythology, and forgettable characters. Most of that action is pleasing and it doesn't over use CG. In fact, the werewolf transformations are an awesome practical effect. Typical, but passable entertainment.

This is a very good action movie between Vampires and Werewolves, if you are a fan of any action or vampire movies than don't let anyone turn you away from this.

THis movie is excellent!Filled with action and passion. Kate Beckinsale is a sexy vampire and takes the image to a whole new level.The story is wriiten excellently.It reveals itself gradually rather than giving the whole story away yet it doesn't make you impatient!The lovestory adds to its brilliance, without dominating the movie or making it boring.The scenes are good and it's obvious that the director worked very hard and delivered excellent work!Vampire fans cannot miss this movie. It is brilliant with an end that definitely leaves you wanting more!Enjoy!!

Vampire and werewolf story. It was said that underworld is a Matrix wannabe, but i like underworld more than the Matrix. The story is good.

A good fast-paced action / horror film with plenty of bullets flying, tight leather outfits and lots of vampire on werewolf fun. The story never makes much sense, but in a movie like this, it's of no consequence.

I had no idea what was going in the movies and nor did I care. To me it was just another blade type movie (though not as good and that says something). A lot of crappy special effects and bad story bring this one down. Not good.
