Day-Lewis if phenomenal, and he deserved the Oscar. The movie as a whole just was missing something. And it was a bit too long for me, but overall an outstanding piece of cinema.

The first thing I think of when looking back on this movie is the music. The acting, the directing and the cinematography were all top notch but the music is what brought them all together. When I look back on this movie I can see no flaw in it what so ever. Daniel Day-Lewis deserved the Oscar he got and I think this should have gotten the best picture nod as well. I don't care what type of movies you like this movie is perfect for you. Move this to the top of your Netflix queue as soon as you can.

I very much feel like Daniel Day-Lewis deserved the Oscar. Wow! Lewis played a great greedy, phycho character. I thought the movie was a bit long but one of the better movies I've seen in awhile. I thought that the music/soundtrack was spectatular. I noticed how it added to the film right away and I don't think the movie would have been as good with out the haunting music. I'm glad I didn't spend 2 and 1/2 hours in the theater, but I thought is was a good rent.

Daniel Day-Lewis deserved the Oscar so much! He's peformance was great, no wonder he's having trouble getting out of character. The movie had a mood that i really enjoyd for 158 whole minutes!

Because there was moral bleed. There was emotional bleed. There was intellectual bleed. The main thing is, and you shouldn't be worried about, that I can asure you: You'll find a fantastic movie. People is tending to overrate DD-Lewis acting (is not overrated at all, it's fantastic) BUT is not THE movie. The movie si about a lot more. Technically speaking, you can notice PT Anderson's signature, specially in the score. Then, he steps up to the next level regarding cinematography and photography. I tell you, don't miss this film by any means.

Daniel Day Lewis stars in this epic movie about early oil tycoons at the turn of the century. Lewis is the star here, as he appears in nearly every scene and gives a mesmerizing performance. Unfortunately, that's about all I appreciated here, other than the great landscapes. The first half really works as Lewis builds his empire in a small town sitting on an ocean of oil. Throughout the second half, he descends into a ruthless personality that doesn't make for pleasant viewing. Of course, that's probably the point, but it didn't make it a movie I could really enjoy.

Phenomenal work from Daniel Day Lewis, Paul Dano, and P.T. Anderson. I was sitting in amazement the entire film. It's hard to decide if this, No Country for Old Men, or Juno is my favorite film of 2007. TWBB and No Country have many similarities with larger than life main characters. I love both Bardem and Day Lewis. Daniel Day Lewis did a Q&A at the screening I attended at it was amazing to see this soft-spoken guy up there after watching such a huge performance. The guy really puts his heart and soul into his roles and it is definitely evident in this one.
