Non-stop action thriller that never lets up. Arny is chilling and funny as the cyborg sent from the future to kill the mother of the man who would one day lead the resistance against the machines. Linda Hamiltion is terrific as Sarah Connor.

The Terminator is a one-of-a-kind sci-fi film that creates a postapocalyptic storyline that is original and engaging. Arnold gives one of his best performances (probably because he isn't required to say much) as the laconic killing machine. The film features some exciting action sequences and advances special effects for when it was made.

Low budget sci-fi action film that stands the tests of time as one of the greatest. The only thing better than this movie is Terminator 2.

The Terminator is a classic sci-fi movie. It remains one of my favorite. I often use this movie to start off my friends who don't think they like sci-fi. Its hard not to be drawn into the story. Linda Hamilton has one of the best all time story arcs going between Terminator and Terminator II. There Terminator is now a classic sci-fi and a must see for all lovers of sci-fi and those trying it out. I adore Michael Biehn too.

Classic Sci-Fi action film that definetly thrills. Enough suspense and action to blow your mind really. I mean, even 25 years later, the movie is still awesome. Fun to watch a ruthless 'no remorse' sort of Arnold run down everything in sight to kill Sarah Connor. The movie is the definition of 'Prime Entertainment.' And what compliments it so nicely is it's great plot. Yep, a solid action movie where shit's blown up, with a plot to cause it all. The Terminator really is one of the best Sci-Fi films ever, and is a must-see for a fan of the genre. Well, if you love sci-fi, chances are you've already seen it. Even more a reason to watch it again! FINAL SCORE :::: 85% ::::

I consider this a classic. Even though it's dated, it's still a terrific movie. The plot and script are pretty good. The whole time parodox thing makes my head spin if I think about it too long . (John Conner sends his future father back in time to save him and....well....become his father!!) The special effects seem old fashioned now, but were quite effective when the movie first came out. The dramatic music amuses me a bit. Arnold is effective in his role as the terminator. With just a handful of lines to say, he is a menacing killer from the future. The movie is full of tense moments and just enough action to accent the story, not overwhelm it. I've seen it tons of times and reccomend it if someone out there hasn't seen it.

Action: 3/3 + Comedy: 1/2 + Good vs Evil: 1/1 + Love/Sex: 1/1 + Special Effects: 0/1 + Plot: 1/1 + Music: 1/1 = 8/10 or 80%. The Terminator is a fantastic thrill ride and is a genuine idea that the sci-fi genre should be greatful to receive. It is fresh and fun and aside from the "bad" special effects it is nearly a classic.

Loved this movie! Is was a great thriller for it's time and I still love it. Although it's pretty dated, it's still one of the best action-packed sci-fi's. Great story and the romance between Sarah Connor and Reese is hot (albeit short lived). Linda Hamilton wasn't my favorite heroine in this one (she's much better in T2) but Michael Biehn was good as Reese.
