While it could certainly use the awaited theatrical remake, the "It" miniseries is effective horror and remains famously remembered for Tim Curry's campy portrayal of the titular devil clown.

"there all float down here". This is Stephen King's story about a group of friends are called back to their hometown to face an evil they thought they defeated 30 years ago. In able to do so they are forced to open old wounds and face unwanted memories. The first part of this mini TV series was creepy and scary but when part 2 came it went stupid and silly.

IT is scary... for children. This was the first horror movie I ever saw. I was 5 or 6 years old and had a very bad baby-sitter. Afterwards I was afraid of everything that could be even remotely connected to this movie and my fear of clowns didn't go away until I was about 18. When I saw IT again and laughed all the way through. It's really not good at all. But I like it in a sentimental sort of way. IT is one of those movies that are so bad that they're good.

I find this movie to be horribly scary, it's also good entertainment. I watched 'IT' for the first time when I was 17. It scared me so bad all of it, it has scarred me of clowns, the only thing they could have done better for this movie would be to have not made him turn into a spider at the end.

First half was good, but the second half was not. The three hours wasn't worth it, after witnessing the lame ending. But, then again, a lot of Stephen King stories don't have good endings. At least Tim Curry was an excellent scary clown.

It was one of the creepiest movies I've ever seen. So naturally, I loved it..., or "It"..., you're choice.

This was hugely overrated. After watching 2 hours and a half hours of it, I gave up, I couldn't concentrate on any more of it, not even just for the last half hour.It was boring. Nothing interesting really happened, and it wasn't scary at all. I'm sure that the boy is great (though I haven't read it), but movies are never the same as the book, so my guess is that this movie ruined a perfectly good Stephen King novel.

This movie definately ruined clowns for me. It gave me nightmares then and it give me nightmares now. Although it does not follow the book exactly (which movie does really) it is still a good adaptation of. I only wish it was not a made for tv movie so the special effects wouldn't be so, for a lack of a better word, cheesy. Nevertheless, it's still a pretty scary movie. I still can't watch it by myself.

Even though this is a TV mini-series more than a film, I have to say it's one of the best adaptations of King novel. Sure, there's a lot cut out (it was made for TV after all) but overall, it's still damn creepy. Tim Curry is excellent.
