That rare action comedy where the highlight is watching two people fall in love. Richard Dreyfus plays a wily cop assigned to monitor the ex-girflriend (Stowe) of a cop killer (Quinn). He unexpectedly falls for her and comedic hi-jinks arise when he has to keep his assignment secret from her and their romance secret from his colleagues. There really isn't much action in the plot, aside from a fairly grim opening and a good car chase in the second act. Aiden Quinn plays the heavy and tries his best Willem Dafoe impression. Only he's not that threatening to be honest. Madeleine Stowe is alluring as the love interest. Dreyfus once more proves himself a capable leading man adept for comedy, romance, and action beats.

Chris (Richard Dreyfuss) and Bill (Emilo Estevez) are two Seattle cops assigned to stakeout Maria’s (Madelaine Stowe) apartment waiting for her psycho killer boyfriend Richard (Aidan Quinn) to show up…..of course Dreyfuss ends up falling for her and the fun begins. There some funny moments and Dreyfuss and Estevez work well off each other. If you can get pass Chris and Bill getting the binoculars out while Marie dresses, undresses and takes a shower then you’re sure to have fun with this one. There are also really good supporting performances from Dan Lauria and Forrest Whitaker as the other cop pair that alternate stakeout duties with Chris and Bill. A lighthearted watch with the buddy cop banter common to these sort of movies.

This is a very funny movie. I enjoyed it a lot. Although, I can't seem to remember much about it.
