I'm not wild about hockey, and I really don't like fighting. But goddamn it if Paul Newman doesn't make everything delightful.

An underrated sports classic - full of comic gold, great one-liners, believable characters, and some true heart. The film isn't a one-note joke about the violence of hockey and has some funny human moments, amid the more ridiculous, broader comedy.

A great sports movie - but I have to admit I was expecting more. The Hanson brothers are instant comedic gold - but the 70s fashion and music? Ugh. Still, for all the fighting and stripping - Slap Shot has a lot of heart too.

This is one of the best sports movies of all time. Newman plays an aging hockey player that comes up with a string of lies to motivate his minor league team to win, and they need it. The team is comprised of old players, young players, pretty boys, and of course the Hanson Brothers, which make the movie! Great movie and one you won't forget!
