Maggie Gyllenhaal disappears completely in the role of the drug-addicted mother recently released from prison who tries to reconnect to the daughter she barely knows. Unfortunately, these scenes are few and far between and the rest feels unimportant. It's nice to see Danny Trejo play a decent guy for a change. Final Grade: C+

It is debatable whether or not this movie is good. Gyllenhall does a great job as a drug addict who has been molested and pathless her whole life. We do feel for her character and how bad she wants her daughter. Nothing special, but good?
