Plot: Summer 1941. Over German Nazi occupied France, a Royal Air Force AVRO Lancaster gets lost after a mission and is shot down over Paris by German flak. The crew, Reginald, Peter Cunningham and Alan MacIntosh, parachute out right over the city. They are hidden by a house painter, Augustin Bouvet, and the grumbling conductor of the Opéra National de Paris, Stanislas Lefort. Involuntarily, Lefort and Bouvet get themselves involved in the manhunt against the aviators led by Wehrmacht Major Aschbach. They have to help the flyboys to go back to England with the help of Resistance fighters and sympathizers.

Plot: Violette Szabo is a young woman whose father is English and mother is French, living in London during WWII. She meets a French Army officer, Etienne Szabo stationed in the city, and within three days they become engaged to be married. They have a daughter together; a young girl named Tania, but Etienne never sees her as he is killed fighting in North Africa.

Because of her linguistic skills, the widowed Violette is employed as a spy by the British government. On her first mission, she travels to Rouen to discover how many of the French Resistance movement have survived, but is forced to flee back to England when a Nazi officer discovers her identity.

Having to complete the mission, Perkola leads he men onward, but when word of Kaarina's possible death reaches his ears, it may doom the entire mission as emotion overtakes sense.
